



About Okoskóla
We organize regular educational, language and cultural activities for children and families. Our goal is to help children keep and develop their Hungarian language and cultural identity while also supporting their connection to Icelandic society.
Our Mission & Organization
We focus on multilingualism, cultural identity, community building and creating a bridge between Hungarian families and Icelandic society. Okoskóla is an independent non-profit association and a member of Móðurmál – samtök um tvítyngi.
Learning, Crafting & Playing Together
We host monthly children’s sessions, family events, cultural celebrations, creative workshops, and community activities designed for every age.

Movement, songs, rhymes and playful language development in a relaxed setting for toddlers and parents.
Stories, crafts, games, songs and creative activities designed to spark curiosity and expressive speech.
Hungarian reading, writing and language development strengthening fluency, literature, and confidence.
Where We Meet
Get Involved
Our regular weekend sessions and family cultural gatherings take place at Hólabrekkuskóli and Gerðuberg Community Centre in Reykjavík. We also organize a variety of activities outside our regular venues, including outdoor programs and experiences in nature.
